Naima Karim
Naima has a Bachelor's in Fine Arts from the Institute of Fine Arts, Dhaka University, Bangladesh. She has been living in Saudi Arabia since 2013. Her work is inspired by the sky and the constant changes of the sky with the times and seasons. After graduation, she moved to The Netherlands and was inspired by the Dutch masters and their paintings. Her preferred mediums are watercolor, acrylic, and Oil. Her VR multisensory experience and immersive art installation, The Anticipation of Rain, won a grant from Ithra and was nominated for three awards. Also, it participated in more than 20 film festivals. Last year she won another grant from Ithra to create her 2nd VR interactive film Mirage. Her paintings were selected and exhibited at the 1st and 2nd International Oil Painting Biennale in Shenzhen in 2020 and 2018 and at the 8th Beijing International Biennale in 2019. She also participated in exhibitions in Dhaka, Amsterdam, Paris, Belgium, Russia, UAE, and Saudi Arabia. Her work is collected by the Dafen Museum, Shangi-La Jeddah, and many private collectors worldwide. In 2023, she was invited to be a jury member for the VR Awards at the Red Sea Film Festival.
